What is the main difference between the suites and the cottages? How do I decide which one to choose?

The main difference is that the Haven Spa Suites is one cottage that contains 2 suites within this same building (Haven Spa Suite 1 and Haven Spa Suite 2), each with private internal and outdoor facilities – there is no sharing of any facilities. The Hideaway Cottage and Cupid’s Cottage are stand-alone buildings. The suites have queen beds, the cottages have king beds. All have spas and wood fires. The Hideaway and Cupid’s have the added facilities of oven and washer/dryer. We recommend the suites for shorter stays and the cottages for longer stays. The best way to decide is to have a look at our virtual tour. This gives you a real life walk through and shows you exactly what each are like inside and outside.

Do all of the suites and cottages have wood fires and is firewood provided?

Yes. All have wood combustion fires. Fire wood is supplied and topped up daily. Fires are used during the period May – Oct only. Fires are not used during total fire ban season. The reverse cycle air conditioner can be used to heat the cottage effectively if required during the other months of the year. Read our fire use and safety policy

Do all of the suites and cottages have spas?

Yes. The Haven Spa Suites have large oval 2 person spa baths which are located in private spa rooms leading through a french door from the bedroom. The Hideaway has a large corner 2 person spa bath in the bathroom. Cupid’s has a large oval 2 person spa bath (the same size as in the suites) It is a sunken bath located at the far end of the bedroom. To see exactly what the bathrooms look like, please view our virtual tours.

Do all of the suites and cottages overlook the lake?

Yes, all look directly over the lake and are surrounded by vineyard. To get a real life view of the location and setting of each of the buildings, please have a look at our virtual tour.

The lake and boat looks like a really fun place for kids. I’d love to bring them. Is this ok?

It is our aim to provide a peaceful escape for couples looking to spend time out together to relax and recharge. Stonewell Cottages and Vineyards is not a family holiday destination. The close proximity of the lake to the cottages and the use of farm machinery in the vineyard surrounding the cottages also presents safety issues for children. Children and infants cannot be accommodated in the Haven Spa Suites or Cupid’s Cottage. By special request, before proceeding with a booking, children 10 years and older and infants less than 12 months old at the time of stay can be accommodated in the Hideaway Cottage only, at the discretion of the Manager. Visitors of paying guests are strictly not permitted to bring their children on site. Please proceed to our booking policies page for more information.

Can I hold my wedding ceremony onsite and have photos around the grounds?

Stonewell Cottages cannot cater for functions, events or parties. There are conditions of use of our private property to ensure peace and privacy for of all our staying guests. These are outlined on our Booking Conditions page.

Can I bring my dog? He is very well behaved.

No, although we are animal lovers, our accommodation cannot house pets of any kind.
