The name of this quirky little cafe is derived from the name given to a hole-in-the-wall tobacconist originating in South America where groceries, wine and market goods were sold, which eventually became the local place to gather, socialise and eat. In the same way, this great little cafe with character in the village of Greenock is becoming very popular for those in the know and has become to the locals, a place to eat, gather and catch up over a cuppa or a glass of wine and meal on a Friday night.
El Estancos’ food consists of fresh produce sourced locally, and from their own garden, resulting in a menu that is truly seasonal. While the menu is small, there is always something new and interesting to choose from and Julian, the chef and owner’s passion for creating simple, authentic and wholesome food always leaves you satisfied. Friday Fiestas are very popular, where the menu alternates between themed menus based around their specialty cuisines, Spanish and Colombian and on the alternate Friday they fire up their wood oven pizza to produce a delicious selection of tasty pizzas. Take away is also an option.
